<h2>Management Server</h2> Number of Management Hosts:<ul><li>Dependent on desired implementation (discussed in on-boarding call), ranges from 1-3 Hosts.</li><li>Host One: The Brokkr Management server (includes Foreman software and Checkout UI)</li><li>Host Two: Smart Proxy on Management Port Subnet</li><li>Host Three: Smart Proxy on Client Subnet</li><li>Note: Smarty Proxy hosts can be combined. Smart Proxy host need to meet minimum hardware requirements.</li></ul> Hardware Requirements:<ul><li>Processor: At least one 64-bit x86_64 or ARM64 (AArch64) processor, with a minimum of 2 cores.</li><li>Memory: Minimum 4 GB of RAM, but 8 GB is recommended for better performance.</li><li>Storage: Minimum 20 GB of free disk space, but 40 GB is recommended to store operating system images, configurations, and logs.</li><li>At least one Network Interface Card (NIC) with a minimum speed of 1 Gbps.</li></ul> Operating System:<ul><li>A compatible Linux-based operating system, such as:</li><li>Ubuntu 18.04 LTS or later</li><li>Ensure that the OS is updated with the latest patches and security updates.</li><li>Root access to the provided management hosts.</li><li>Configure NTP for time synchronization.</li></ul> <h2>Customer Bare Metal Inventory</h2><ul><li>Admin access to management interfaces for full life-cycle management.</li></ul>RAID Configuration:<ul><li>RAID controller with hardware or software RAID support.</li><li>Minimum of two hard drives with the same capacity.</li><li>RAID 1 (mirroring) for redundancy and fault tolerance. RAID 5 or RAID 10 can be used for better performance and fault tolerance, but they require a minimum of three and four hard drives, respectively.</li></ul> <h2>Network Configuration</h2><ul><li>A static IP address assigned to the Brokkr management server and smart proxies.</li><li>Ensure that the following ports are open in the firewall:</li><li>22 (SSH)</li><li>80 (HTTP)</li><li>443 (HTTPS)</li><li>Proper DNS resolution for the server's hostname.</li><li>Management port access (iLO, DRAC, IPMI) on management subnet.</li><li>Customer Subnet routing all discoverable Bare Metal servers for customer consumption; Foreman smart proxy must be able to listen on this subnet and the smart proxy must be routable from our foreman management server.</li></ul>
